Initially after installing os it was working but once I added Vcenter in to domain then I started facing this issue. Host will disconnect automatilly after 30 sec . but all VM is up & runnung.

I was able to add host once again but it will again disconnect after 30 sec.

Please help me to resolve this issue.......

Have you double check your host resolution name (fqdn)?

I have the same problem, i already checked fqdn, hostname, gateway, ip, communication, routing, storage, i already tried adding another service console and using it to connect to VC by IP, but the same thing...

I tried all KB i found here..

One of them says that is a DNS problem when a synthom is that whe u restart mgmt-vmware service, u can't connect it to vcenter but after 12 min u can do it, i have that synthom but i already checked DNS and is OK...

Is your vCenter server or ESX hosts behind a statefull firewall? Or, are you using any NAT translations?

Try restarting the management service.

I already checked firewall and opened even all ports and still the same problem

If you keep having to restart the service, then a reboot is in order.

You can try remove and add back this ESX host to your vCenter using ip address but without HA configure and see whether you still have "disconnected" issue or not.

You should check your network then, Service Console, ping result, hostd.log and etc.

BTW vCenter will ONLY able communicate with ESX if "vmware-hostd" listening on port 80 & 443. Check it out too..

Can you pinpoint the exact time it happens and provide the vpxd (vcenter) logs and the vmkernel/vmkwarning/messages (/var/log in ESX) for that time? You really need to try and determine what is going wrong from the log level on ESX and vCenter.

Hi

SOLVED my problem!.

I had the same problem, with a new ESX host running vSphere 4 and updated with the latest patches etc.

I tried a lot of things but the ESX server was keeping disconnecting from the vcenter server every 1 minute or so..

The problem was in our firewall, the vcenter had access to the ESX server though port 902, 903, http and https. But the ESX server did not have access back to the vcenter server, so by enabling access though port 902, http and https (and also the VMware Update Manager ports), then it stopped disconnecting.

Hope this might help others to.

Thanks
