ESX host disconnect from vCenter

Hi, I have ESX host running few years, I'm configured vCenter 4 try to manage the ESX host, when I add the host first time I getting this message, I keep try 2 times it's the same but 3 times is connected but right after 10 seconds it disconnect itself, I connect again but same disconnect issue happen again.

I'm use hostname define in local hostfile, network firewall permit all the connetion, windows firewall is turn off, any idea?

vCenter Server 4.0 Build 208111

vSphere Client 4.0 Build 208111

ESX, 4.1.0, 260247

The vCenter server needs to be upgraded to vCenter 4.1 to be able to manage ESX/i 4.1 hosts.

like vGuy said check the compatibility matrix.

you will see that esxi 4.1 is comaptible with vcneter 4.1  and 5.1
