'Download patch definitions' and 'Sync Updates' remain in progress

Hey all,
I stood up a new vCenter Server Appliance and it appears to be working okay but there are a couple of tasks that remain in queue despite reboots. Those tasks are: 'download patch definitions,' 'sync updates.' I searched the forums and someone suggested check the network proxy settings. When I log into the management console -> Networking -> Edit Network Settings -> Edit Settings, the form box is black. chrome_s21eeYa23N.png

 

I want to try to update the DNS settings to include a publicly available one instead of the ones from our domain controller. Can anyone help?

I rejoined the VCSA to the domain and the download patch definitions and sync updates completed after reboot. It's Friday, so I'm good :).
