Different edition of ESX 4.x in same cluster?

Hi,

- Is it supported to run different edition of ESX 4.x in a Cluster? (Standard Edition and Advance Edition )

- As first question. Is it supported vmotion feature? (Can move or not?)

Thank you.

Hi, you can:

have Standard and Advanced in one Cluster. With version 4.0 vMotion is only possible on Advanced hosts. With 4.1 you can also use vMotion on Standard hosts. HA will work on standard and advanced in any edition.

You couldn't mix Enterpise editions with activated DRS in a cluster with lower editions. But you didn't got that anyway.

Last question.

If a cluster have 2 advance edition and 1 standard edition. Can I enable FT feature on advance edition hosts?

You should, because FT is not a cluster-feature.
