Datastore Disk Usage Alarms

Hi All

Using VMware vCenter Server Version 4.1.0

I have configured alerting on Datastore Disk Usage Alarm with triggers of Datastore Disk Usage is above 87 for a warning and 90 for Alert, this runs correctly for a while and alerts are generated and mail etc. is sent out if triggers are reached, but this stops working at some point and I then have to  disable the alarm and re-enable the alarm to get it all working again ,has anyone else experienced this or something similar

Alarms are a big "buggy" and this is a known issue.  Disabling and enabling the alarm as you do, for now, seems to be the fix

Hi,

Same problem here (VSphere 4.1.0).

Buggy : you mean we cannot rely on alarms to be alerted when a problem occured ???

Hi Chris

We have found we have to monitor our Storage alarms and disable and enable once a week ,they seem to "pause"

Regards

Same here. We also have to disable/enable the datastore usage alarms about once a week. 4.1U1.
