Datastore Cluster Question

Hi,

Is it possible to have 4 ESXi Clusters, each with their own set of SAN Datastores, all joined to a single Datastore Cluster? I've not found exactly this configuration described anywhere. I understand there are limits such as 32 Datastores etc and paths to the Datastores will only be available from certain hosts.

Has anyone tried this? I'm trying to simplify VM placement from a Cloud Management Platform.
