DRS Question

For the first time in 5 years I noticed that DRS is acting strange and was curious if it warrants opening a ticket with support.  Out of the blue it started vmotioning VM off of one Host on to the other two.  Two of them have 98GB of RAM and the other has 132.  it still shows out of balance (One host has  25% memory usage the others are about 75%.  I tried to lower the aggressiveness of DRS and nothing has change but now it thinks that it is in balance.  Any thoughts on this?  should I ride it out or open a support case?  Gets me a bit nervous sine the one that has the least resources on it is the oldest host I have.  In 5 years of running I have never seen this happen.  Any thoughts or comments are welcome.  Thanks

Just to clarify :

What are your DRS settings right now?

What version of ESXi?

You have two hosts with 98GB RAM and one with 132GB RAM ... are resources balanced if not what level are they at?

Thanks,

J

The settings are where they have been all along.  Fully Automated and right in the middle for aggressiveness.  If it's at fully automated it has always kept all three hosts balanced very well.  All hosts are usually at or around 50% of memory and about 20% CPU.  This day was extremely odd and that is the reason for the post.  It seems fine now but thought it was strange.  Thanks for the reply!!

The only time I have seen anything like this is when it is detected a failure on a node and HA is trying to move stuff off... it's really the only thing I can think of that could cause it.
