I have been trying to deploy a template with no success. I get the non-descriptive failure message about failing customization. In the customization, I am changing the workgroup, and the computer name. No SID change or domain addition. I also have the administrator log in once - yes, the password is correct.
There is no virus scanners and the admin password is blank. I have no ideas left. Also, I can use the "Reconfigure" functionality and I assume it uses the same sysprep files... I don't know.
Below is the vpxd-28.log for the time of the failure. I think of interest is the line regarding the boot.exe. Also, I have attached an image of my XP sysprep folder incase I am missing something there. About the boot.exe path... there is a double backslash in the log path \[this post shows three but there are really only two\]; obviously that is not a valid windows path. IS this just a log format issue? And that path; I assume it is referring to the vCenter machine not the to-be deployed VM?

The XP is XP Pro SP3 with ALL updates/patches to date and running IE7 \[not 8\]. Also, the template has no virus protection, system restore disabled, and a blank admin password.
"Reconfigure.." works like a dream - change computer name, add to domain, create admin password, etc.. But Customization always fails.
So the process I am currently stuck with is deploy template with no customizations. Once it is deployed I use the reconfigure menu to make all necessary changes. I really wish to get Customization working. I have never posted here and not had tons of help....
