Converting/moving

There is a server running on a physical box that I want to move to vCenter. I ran stand-alone converter on the box and it created vmdk, vmsd, vmx and vmxf files as a result of conversion. I copied those files to my PC.

Is there any way just to physycally copy those files over to vCenter and connect them somehow on vCenter as a virtual machine? (or should I run the converter that way that it does the conversion and puts it on the vCenter as one process?)

Thanks.

Elijah.

let converter do the work for you. Your destination can be vCenter or and ESX(i) Host. We usually choose and ESX(I) Host as the destination. When conversion is complete you'll be able to power on the guest.
