Converter Linux Machine

Anybody knows any feature to migrate Linux physycal machine, to an ESX server, managed by a Virtual Center.

Have any VMWare tool for this, because VMWare converter is only to Windows machines.

Thanks.

VMWare conveter will import other 3rd party images. Try using Symantec Ghost if you have it to make an image of your machine.

Converter also supports Microsoft Virtual PC or Microsoft Virtual Server images.

Converter will work with Linux, you just need to use the cold-clone CD instead. Otherwise check out PowerConvert from PlateSpin.

From the Converter Release Notes:

Support for the following guest operating systems is Experimental. VMware Converter 3 can clone source images containing these operating systems, but the destination virtual machine may or may not work without additional configuration after import. In particular, if the source image contains unsupported hardware, you may need to modify the configuration of the destination virtual machine before using it:

Linux

Windows NT 3.x

Windows ME

Windows 98

Windows 95

MS-DOS
