Convert template to a VM via service console????

I have a template that is no longer orphaned but that does not allow any other options. Right-clicking the template shows all the options grayed out. My hope was to remove from inventory and readd it, but that is not availabe. Without those options i then tried to unregister via SC but the command does not work on templates, only VM's (to my dismay). Im now thinking if i can convert the template back to a VM via the SC I could then run the deregister command and then be able to readd it to the inventory via VC or the SC and hopefully it will have fixed the weird "grayed out" occurences.

Is anyone familiar with the command to convert templates to VM's? Does such a commnd exist? Or Is there a way to simply convert it back by editing a config file or such? THANKS!!!!

Do you still have the vmtx file, etc? The file should be the same - you can use vmkfstools to create a new vmdk file and use that.
