Convert from Management License to Host Based

I need to take two ESX hosts out of my Virtual Center Management server. How do I change these two ESX hosts so that they will use a Host Based License File?

You will have to generate a host based license file from the VMware product registration portal.

Understood I need to generate a file from the portal but what do I do with the file after I have it? Do I have to do anything extra on the ESX host since it was once managed by a management server?

1. Goto the Configuration tab in VC

2. Click Licensed Features

3. Click Edit by the Licenses Sources

4. Select Use Host License file and then choose the path to the lic file generated.
