Connect the vCenter Client 5.0 to the Esxi 5.0

Hi All,

I want to set up the connection between Esxi and the vmware VCenter Client. And these both are trial versions.

Well i downloaded the workstation 8.0. Installed it, this too is a trial version.

On the workstation i have installed the Esxi 5.0.

Now i have to set up the connection b/w Esxi n the vcenter client/Server.

I had also seen in the google we cant setup the connection with trial versions. Is it a correct information....?

I am wondering if there is any way to do it, with the trial versions.

Thanks in Advance

Regards

Seema

as long as the network is configured correctly, it should work...are you getting any error while connecting to the host?

Hello,

Thanks,

I am glad that the trial versions will work...

I have installed the Vsphere client  on the Virtual machine(2008-R2)

The n/w connection and the IP Address for the Esxi is fine, and there are no errors....

But can u please tell me now how to set up the connection with the Vsphere Client and Esxi.?

Can u please tell me what steps to be followed.

Regards

Seema

just double click the vSphere Client shortcut on the Windows 2008 R2 desktop and enter

hostname/IP address of the ESXi host and root as username and it's password..

are you able to ping the ESXi host's IP and telnet to port 443 successfully...also try to disable the built-in Windows Firewall if it's enabled.
