Communication Vista host with Fedora guest on Workstation 6.5.3

Hi,

I run a Fedora guest OS on Vista host VMware Workstation 6.5.3

I can neither drag and drop nor copy and paste nor use shared foldersalthough VMware tools are installed.

rpm -Uvh VMwareTools-7.8.6-185404.i386.rpm

What could be wrong?

ThanksDieter

Hi Prakash,

Your answer was helpful with respect to that

rpm -Uvh VMwareTools...i386.rpm is not sufficient

but vmware-config-tools.pl is necessary.

When all modules load perfectly into the running kernel than drag 'n drop and cut 'n paste work

but not shared folders.

Interestingly enough: VM asks to be reinstalled.

Thanks

Dieter

Shared folders also causing perfomance troubles. You can share files between OSes using direct IP access.
