Cluster EVC Mode

Hello,

Actually I have 4 HP Blade 460c G6 with 2 clusters in ESX 3.5Uand I bought two new like HP Blade 460c G7. I don't know EVC option for a cluster but I read some articles. My question is do you advise me to use this fonctionnality? I heard that a lot of people have problems with it.

Could you please give me a feddback if you use EVC.

Thanks.

Hi

I have EVC enabled on each cluster which I have under my responsibility and I put EVC enabled to every design. In general if your processors are compatible with EVC baselines go ahead and enable it

Hi Arthur,

All my BL 460c G6 have a processor type x5550 and my new G7 have x5650 with Westmere. I read your link and apparently my G6 are not compatible. I think that I haven't any other choice, so I will create 2 Clusters, one with my G6 and the second with G7 blades.

Thanks.

I found both processors compatibile with Core™ i7 EVC Mode

Like for me you can put G6 anf G7 into one cluster with EVC enabled

like arturka points out or you can see in the table for your servers EVC is configurable for all 3 EVC modes for Intel Procesors just try the higher EVC mode (Core i7) on your cluster....

By the way I've used EVC without any problem
