Changing VC ODBC connection to SQL Server

I need to change the Windows account used to connect VC to SQL DB's

Was going to use this KB for the VC connection

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=100648...

3 things I am not clear on.

1. These instructions do not mention stoppin and restarting the VMware Virtual Center Server service. But in other directions I have seen this step mentioned quite a bit.

2. The ODBC connection for the VC Update Manager shows in is using the correct Windows account when looking in the registry. But in the ODBC connection itself shows the user who installed it. So when I make the changes  to the VC user do I need to go back into the ODBC connection itself and change this to the new user?  I had read a few places that the user that shows in the ODBC interface doesnt matter since it is actually using whatever is set in the registry.

To change this I beleive you do have to stop the service because the user screen is grayed out.

3. We are running VC 4 not 4.1 which these instructions are for. IN teh registry the entry for the username is blank?
