Change name of a datastore?

Hi,

Is there any way to change the display name of an NFS datastore that I have 8 nodes of a cluster connected to?  This is for aesthetic reasons only - naming convention uniformity.  Just curious if I renamed the datastore in Datastore View in vSphere VCenter, does that change the display name for every host?  Or do I need to change the display name at every host in 'Hosts and Clusters' view.  Just curious if I can do this while VMs are running with no adverse affects....or will I need to literally shut down all VMs to do this.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You can change the name of Datastores (NFS, iSCSI, FC etc) at any time without any adverse affects.

Just right click, rename to your hearts content!

Thank for that, Nick.  Much better scenario than a full power-down!  Marking as answer.
