Change VM's datastore location ... manually

Hi all,

The process that I use to move VMs residing on VolA to VolB is as follows:

\- deregister them fr VolA,

\- move the folders fr VolA to VolB,

\- register them fr VolB.

This works fine for all small flat vmdk files. I just ran into one VM that has 600G on RMD disks. My question for the group is: is there a way for me to just copy the poniters and NOT the content of these files to the new volume ... say VolC which has only 50G.

You could always simply create a new VM and point this at the RDM. This would work and be just as quick.
