I have a wildcard certificate issued by commercial authority
(I was using the same for 2 years with VC2.x & it was fine till expired, it is still fine, only gives me a warning)
My certificate is stored in eDirectory, I can export is as .pfx and then:
openssl pkcs12 -in c:\cert\wc.pfx -nocerts -out c:\cert\rui.key
openssl pkcs12 -in c:\cert\wc.pfx -clcerts -nokeys -out c:\cert\rui.crt
Both rui.key & rui.crt are fine & valid, as I am using it on another SSL enabled devices/services
Then I create:
openssl pkcs12 -export -in rui.crt -inkey rui.key -name vc4.domain.org -out rui.pfx
Copy the files to the C:\ProgramData\Vmware\VMware VirtualCenter\SSL
run vpxd -p , fill the passwords
and the vpxd service will not start, it hangs with 1053 error
revert back to previous set of ssl files (now expired) & vpxd -p again and it works fine
Anybody has any idea?
Thanks
Seb
