Cannot start VC: license not claimed

Hi,

how do you force VC to claim its license ? I am sure there is one available, as this line in the LMtools Server Status says:

Users of PROD_VC: (Total of 1 license issued; Total of 0 licenses in use)

thx,

Bart

You may want to check your windows application event log for any erorrs. If the service is not starting, you may see why in that log.

Do you have Windows Firewall enabled or disabled? I wonder if a blocked port could be an issue.

I had to use Windows Firewall on our VC server. Had to open all of the ports too.

Hi,

the problem was that we used SQL Server 2005 as a DB. There are some specific requirements to do this:

http://kb.vmware.com/vmtnkb/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=6565318&sliceId=SAL_Public

After this, it worked fine.
