Cannot add hosts by FQDN

Hi

I have a vCenter 5 and are trying to add my ESXi 5 hosts using their hostname or FQDN, but it fails.

I can add them by IP addresses with no problem.

I checked DNS and is is resolving fine.

The hosts Netbios and FQDN resolves to the correct IP.

even a reverse lookup with -a on the IP returns the correct hostname

What can be the problem?

Check if your vCenter is in your reverse lookup zone in DNS

I had this same issue before Smiley Wink

That actually solved the problem

This is in my LAB so I must have messed something up while doing DNS

Thanks!
