I have two ESX servers that are part of my Lab Manager evaluation. I just got another 30 day eval key for my license servers, when I have replaced (my previous license expired over the weekend).
So the License Server is happy, and says I have 16 licenses, 0 assigned. I go into th VI client tool, connect to ESX server, then go to Configuration -> Licenses. I edit the license source and click ok, so it re-reads the license server information. Then I click on ESX license type, and try to change from "unlicensed" to "ESX standard license". Then I get an error "There are not enough licenses to perform the operation"
Any clues?
