Are vCenter patches cummaltive?

Jump to solution

Hallo Team,

I'm upgrading my vCenter 6.7 to the latest version. it is a lab.

I see the following screen.

I was wondering if I have to select each or I should select the last one. If I select last one, then all other updates are included in it? or I have to read each release notes to check the right version?

You should select latest one and it contains all previous patches.

I recommend to read latest release notes and check any issues about update.

One time I had a problem with update and I had to update one by one from lowest number release to highest but it was one time.

Since it was a lab, I did not waited for the confirmation.

As you correctly said, I choose the latest and it worked.

Then after updating it gave me further latest patched, which I updated and all done.

So for others

1. take the latest one.

2. after the latest is the patch, check if there are new patches and choose the latest one from it.

Again, read and read release notes. I will never do this in Production before reading release notes.
