  • 1.  Any tools available to control database growth?

    Posted Dec 24, 2007 09:49 AM

My VC database is now at 9GB and growing with 7+M records in the event table. Has VMWARE got any tools to keep things under control?

    Thanks.

    No tools AFAIK

I suggest you to take a look to the following to purge old data from DB:

    It helped me a lot!

Hi Roger, you can change the level of statistics that you capture and that will help control your database growth. In VC go to Administration \ VirtualCenter Management Server Configuration and select Statistics. The attached image is from VC 2.5 and shows the estimated database size.

You can also delete old event / task data.

    - note that the queries should end in < (sysdate - 30) - the ( is missing in the examples.
