Any Way to Really Custom Alerting?

Alarms created in VirtualCenter only have five triggers. Each trigger only has a few conditions can be used to customize the alert. The included alerts cover most problems, but they are by no way exhaustive.

Does anyone know a way to create custom triggers for more precise alerting?

For instance, I want to be alerted every time a host experiences a Disk Bus Reset or a Disk Command Abort. That way, I can track the activity since this kind of history can't be tracked through the performance charts anywhere except for real-time.

The alarms in VC are very limited and not customizable beyond the built-in alerts. If you want more alerting you are better off using a separate product for this. You could use a virtual appliance like Nagios or you could use SNMP traps and HP/Dell/IBM management agents.
