Alerting on creation and deletion of VM's

Hey Guys,

I am trying to setup some basic alerts that will fire an email on the creation, deletion and modification of vm's. I was able create an alarm on the creation of a VM and send an email however the problem is the alarm stays red until it has been manually cleared. Also, any additional machines created after the alarm has been triggered but before it has been cleared do not send any further notifications.

As our environment has grown and we have multiple administrators now managing the environment i would like a simple way to be notified when changes are made. Additional reporting and tracking products are not in the budget this year so I need an alternative.

Thanks

A different way could be use the log file, and use them to generate notification.

Otherwise you can use some scripting to clear the alarm after is trigger.

You could install the free Kiwi Syslog Server and use it to create alerts based on events. You might even be able to do this if you create a vMA server and send your host logs to it, but I can't confirm and couldn't find anything on google.
