Alarms

Hi,

I have ESXi 4.1 fully installed & working fine, I now need to monitor it. The only part I'm stuck on is monitoring if a dvLink goes down on a Distributed vSwitch. If I set an alarm to monitor if a dvPort goes down then it will alert if any port goes down, e.g. a VM connected goes down. I only want to know if a host dvUplink connection to the dvSwicth goes down. Does anyone know a way to do this with the alarms? I've tried all the host alarms such as network redundancy lost etc but they only work on a local vSwitch not a dvSwitch.

Thanks

DVS is based on vcenter, so you won't find any alarms on the individual host. If you click on the vCenter>Alarms>definitions> you will see a few network alarms. Although not many, ti may be worth checking it.
