AgentUpgradeChecker 4.0U2 or 4.1 on a 4.0U1/ESXi 4.0U1 infrastructure says I need ESX 3.x patches

I have a 4.0U1 infrastructure with only ESXi hosts.

Trying to upgrade to 4.0U2 or to 4.1 VMware AgentUpgradeChecker says that both my hosts are missing patches as by screenshot.

But if you follow the link (required patch) you see that it refers to ESX and not ESXi and for 3.x version. The 4.1 agent is pretty the same except for an added column about memory.

How should I interpret this analysis? Even if I would I think I cannot patch a 4.0U1 ESXi with 3.x patches for ESX...

Thanks!

Which version of AgentUpgradeChecker are you using?

The one bundled with vCenter Server 4.1 DVD. The message is practically the same.

Properties on AgentUpgradeChecker.exe from the vSphere 4.1 DVD says version 4.0.1.0.

Hi..

I gave it shot in my lab, things are working fine for me.

Not sure whats problem with you.

Would it possible to share the report files located at %temp% ?

Also this shouldn't be a blocker for your upgrade.

Please go ahead with your upgrade by following upgrade guide lines doc.

Attached the compressed folder of %temp% just after the agent ran.

Let me know if it's something useful.
