After upgrade to 5.0 missing some performance counters

Hi

I upgraded vCenter server from version 4.1 to 5.0. We manage 3 ESX hosts (3.5) and 2 ESX hosts (4.1). The 4.1 servers are in HA mode. The upgrade alone went without any problems or known errors.

The vCenter application works OK if looking from management perspective, but on one ESX host and also VM hosted on this ESX (version 4.1)  I do not see new performance data after upgrade (the second ESX 4.1 server performance data are visible).

I already restart management agent on ESX host. After few hours’  is see some performance data on few VM hosted on problematical ESX, but not on all of them. On some VM I see CPU, disk, datastore performance data, but on other I just see only CPU, but no disk, no datastore etc. I got message “no metrics specified”.

The same thing is, if I look performance data on ESX host, where I can see data for “default” view, but no data for CPU, disk, memory etc.

As I said, the strange thing is, that on other 4 ESX hosts, everything work OK.

Before upgrade everything was collecting as it should, so we did not have any problems.

Any idea before opening case on vmware support?

Regards, Dejan

Hi guys

I think I figured out what is the problem, just 2 minutes after posting this topic into this forum.

The problem was with Xtravirt RDP Plugin, which is as it seems not supported on this vCenter 5. After uninstallation all performance data are visible.

I hope this solutions will come handy for anyone having similar problem.
