Add Vcenter 6 embedded installation to external PSC

Is it possible to add an existing Vcenter 6 embedded installation to an external PSC controller so I can use Linked Mode.? The current problem is we already have a existing Vcenter 6 server we do not want to rebuild.

I believe you can build a PSC machine and repoint existing management server node to the new PSC.

Yes I believe you are right according to the documentation above. I am going to build out a new separate PSC today.
