Add ESXI 5.0 host to Vcentre 4

We have new Dell R810 and they are only supported by ESXI 5.0.

We cannot upgrade our Vcentre from 4.0 to 5.0 but we need to get these host in ASAP!

Can we install ESXI 5.0 on the hosts and add them to Vcentre4 server?

Also does anyone know if we can present VMFS-4 to ESXI 5.0 host?

vCenter4 cannot manage an ESXi5 Host.  You will need vCenter5.

As for VMFS, there was not a VMFS4.  VMFS3 LUNs can be seen and used by ESXi5 hosts, but VMFS5 LUNs cannot be seen or used by any other Host that is not ESXi 5.x.

ESXi 5 hosts managed by vCenter 4 is not a supported configuration.

VMFS-3 can be presented to ESXi 5 hosts - this is supported.

You will need vCenter 5 to manage ESXi5 hosts.

What do you mean by VMFS4? It is either VMFS3 or VMFS5. You can present 3 or 5 to ESXi5 hosts.
