What I noticed with this Error

Chrome:  "[400] An error occurred while sending an authentication request to the vCenter Single Sign-On server - An error occurred when processing metadata during vCenter Single Sign-On setup: the service provider validation failed. Verify that the server URL is correct and is in FQDN format, or that the hostname is a trusted service provider alias".

IE:  stuck at loading, vshere Client never came

Edge: Loads vShere Client just fine

FireFox:  [400] An error occurred while sending an authentication request to the vCenter Single Sign-On server - An error occurred when processing metadata during vCenter Single Sign-On setup: the service provider validation failed. Verify that the server URL is correct and is in FQDN format, or that the hostname is a trusted service provider alias.

We have defined a DNS alias for our VCSA and it stopped working after the upgrade.

Following the KB article to modify the webclient.properties worked.

I had to add the FQDN and shortname and it worked! Just adding the shortname did not work.

Example: vcsadnsalias,test.com,vcsadnsalias.
