I agree that the install procedure went very, very smoothly. I ran into a few snags that I'll document here too. I'm running Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 4, on a 8 node cluster running tomcat 5.0, apache 1.3.33 and PostgreSQL 8.0(.4?). The first problem I ran into was straight out of the gate, getting the install JVM to run correctly. My /tmp/ directory isn't set up for execute permissions. I ended up tracking it down into the scripts, and eventually set my TMPDIR environment variable to ~/tmp or something. Fixed that problem right up.
The second problem had to do with the charts not showing up due to the xlib problem. I found a site that said to do:
yum install xorg-x11-deprecated-libs
...but I didn't have yum installed and used up2date or something.
Other than that, the installation went smooth as silk, got the whole cluster monitoring in a little under an hour. Great stuff!
