creating a server types

Is there a way to create your own server types in vFabric Hyperic?

What exactly do you mean by server types? Do you intend to discover custom server types?

When you go under the Administration tab > Monitoring Defaults > Server Types it lists the applications the v-Hyperic can discover out of the box.  Can I customize / add new Server Types of is this all there is?

If there's a server (web server, middleware server, etc.) of a type not in Hyperic, you can make your own plug-in to discover and monitor it.  I've not done that, so I don't know if resources from custom plug-ins will show up on the Monitoring Defaults page.

Do you know of any docs out there on creating these custom plug-ins because I'm not seeing anything?  I opened a case with VMware and didn't get much assistance.  They pointed me towards professional services which isn't very helpful.
