We are considering integrating our product with Hyperic. We already provide some data via SNMP, plus traps about alarms: I gather from the documentation these are simple to display in Hyperic, even without deploying an agent.
The only interface to issue commands like suspend or restart modules is a shell-like CLI over SSH.
Questions:
1, How much effort does it take to add such actions to the context menu of an element? (e.g. ssh admin@HOSTNAME "restart module all")
3, If we decide to create a Hyperic plugin, what are the licence requirements for our code? Do we have to share it? (not necessarily a problem, but must be clear upfront.)
4, What is the philosophy regarding mutiple agents on one host? There is probably already a plugin for our OS, the database, etc. Should we still create one more for our system?
