Unable to see service availability

Hi,

We are running the latest version of hyperic. The local installation's agent shows a lot of metric information but we have two additional linux boxes that are discovered but they don't show any information for any of the discovered services. I just have a " ! " icon next to them. The only service that is green on both boxes is sendmail. Is there something that I'm doing wrong?

Server is installed on: Linux CENTOS5 2.6.18-92.1.22.el5 #1 SMP Tue Dec 16 12:03:43 EST 2008 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

Monitored boxes with problems:

Server1: Linux CENTOS5 2.6.18-53.1.19.el5PAE #1 SMP Wed May 7 08:48:19 EDT 2008 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

Server2: Linux CENTOS5 2.6.18-8.1.8.el5 #1 SMP Tue Jul 10 06:39:17 EDT 2007 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Hi,

please check out
http://support.hyperic.com/display/hypcomm/Troubleshooting+with+HQ+Health
especially the part about time offset.

Cheers,

Hi I have followed that doc and I can confirm that I am able to telnet into those boxes.

I do not have any firewall on my hyperic server. Attached are my screenshots.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

did you see the huge time offset on two platforms ? Please check why the timeoffset is so huge and install an NTP client to keep it as small as possible.

Cheers,
Mirko

make sure that time is synced (NTP) between Hyperic servers and systems with Hyperic agents.

Synchronizing the time fixed everything. Thanks for all your help!
