Subtlety of Alerts on Dashboard

Hi,
I'm more used to using Nagios and Sitescope so the dashboard of Hyperic seems a little subtle to me. Is there any way to customize it so that an alert is more noticeable? eg, giant flashing red thing or the like.. thanks.

Joan

Hi Joan,

There are two ways to make the alerts more noticeable. The first
way, which is not configurable, is the Recent Alerts section in the
masthead. It will display the two most recent alerts for which the
current user is part of the notifications list of the alerts. The
second way is through the Recent Alerts portlet, which actually
displays the recent alerts for all of the user's resources, no matter
if the user was configured to be notified by the alert. You can
change the placement of this portlet to be more prominent by using
the up/down arrows. Additionally, the portlet is configured to
display only the most recent 5 HIgh priority alerts, but you can
configure it to display up to 10 alerts of any status and/or limit
the alerts to some smaller set of resources. Hope this helps.
