I am using the Enterprise edition and would like to have a script invoked as an action for a group alert. The documentation says "The only action a resource group alert can trigger is an escalation."
I'm thinking of simulating a script action for a group alert by creating a Service of type Script that will use the Java HQ APIs to collect metric data from the members of the group to simulate the "group alert condition". I can then use the result of the script as a metric on which to create a regular alert, which can then invoke a script.
I was just wondering if there were any other ideas on how to simulate a script action for a group alert before I go down this path.
