Can anybody help?

Hi Paul,

got a trial version of a SNMP simulator installed and I got identical
effects.
Give me some time to reedit the plugin

Are you able to monitor at all outside of HQ using a script or SNMP for example? Once you have that we can help with the HQ integration.

Hi all,

could you define the most important parameter of a sensatronic device you would like to monitor ?
Maybe I could develop a plugin for sensatronic devices.

Hi excowboy, that is an offer i for one could not pass up.

Please find attached the mibs files for the device.

here are the first lines of output of snmpwalk

Hi Paul,

on Hyperforge you' ll find a first implementation of the Sensatronics Plugin:
http://support.hyperic.com/confluence/display/hypcomm/Sensatronics

I don't have any access to a Sensatronics device. It's more general and there are no default metrics enabled. After deploying you should enable some metrics in Administration -> Monitoring Defaults
The plugin is checking for "sensorNDataIn". I hope it doenst matter

I'm looking forward to your report !

Cheers

Sorry exCowboy
I've followed your instructions carefully but still no joy

It seems not able to pick out any of the mibs even though they get loaded .into the mibtree.

The plugin is created based on the SNMP mibfile. What happens in the UI ? Can you see some informations about the device like Host Name, Device Name or Manufactor ?
At the moment I can't give you any further help unless I got access to a sensatronics device.

Unfortunately there is nothing in the UI
The network device is there and is avaliable, but no metrics are displayed except for defualt network device ones

Yes Paul, thats correct.

Go to the nework device, click on the "Metric Data" tab, click on
"Show All Metrics", click on the checkboxes of the metrics you would
like to enable and set a collection interval on the bottom of the
page. After that please click on the "
Play" button.
After several minutes you should see some metrics, after that you have
to enable them in your indicator page. Do you know how to do that ?

Cheers

Right then..

followed those instructions, but i am not getting metric data, none of the metrics being displayed refer to the temprature monitor..
How is the data pulled of the device and then displayed in hyperic? is there somewhere i can define fields? do i need to reconfigure snmp/snmptraps on the server or host

I feel we are almost there tho'

Hi Paul,

don't think that I can help you at the moment: You can give me SSH access to your HQ Agent machine or wait until I got a SNMP simulator.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Thank you very much for all your help, especially you Mirko.
It is friday afternoon, and I have a headache, so that could be the reason, why I cannot think anymore.
I've taken the created plugin, and placed it as described. I have, just to be certain, restarted my Hyperic, and now want to use the plugin, but how do I do that?
I am a bit of a novice, but my collegue helps me, a little, so apologies for using your time.

Tonni.
