Im not a developer and for that matter not really familiar with plugins etc. I write unix
scripts or windows scripts for servers,but thats it . Are there plugins written by other
people that I could just insert in Hyperic somewhere ?
In reading various information and not always understanding the basics, I wondering if someone could give a simple explanation as to what we could do in Hyperic (Open Source) that would use a script plugin. ??? How is that different from the HQ shell that we installed ??
1. What would one use the HQ shell to do that the Hyperic software wouldnt do?
2. When would I want to use the HQ shell.,and how would I create a script and use it within Hyperic?
3. What is a script plugin? They look painstakingly difficult in syntax etc .
4.Where do I find the structure or form of a script pluggin. If im not a developer, should I even try to write a pluggin.. How is a script plugin diifferent from creating something with the HQ shell..
A few Examples is worth a thousand words .. I see plugins in your forums but many times
I dont know what there objective is.
Any help in understanding when and how to use this in layman terms would really help at this point.
