I'm currently doing a number of http service checks against one of my agents, but on occasion it will fail.. The http check is configured on the agent that's being checked so in my weblogs it appears tht it's getting hit from localhost.
We're also seeing failures in a couple process monitors for mysql, apache etc.. on occasion they will thing the process is down. When checked the processes/pages have been up and available. I'm curious how the server determines a failure?
Our agent is only available via the internet from where the HQ server is? Does this affect it's ability to detect a true failure? What happens if communications between the agent and server are dropped? Thanks!
