Subject: Re: Alert Notification when Fixed? Only in Enterprise or in OpenSource too?
I'm currently running Nagios, with various addons for performance graphing but I'm really interested in migrating to Hyperic HQ and it can provide us with dar more information.
However, this is the one feature that may stop me. To me, its seems fairly fundamental for any monitoring application to be able to generate an alert and tell me when a server is down and then tell me again when its up and clear the alert. Like other's have said, if I could have any feature from the Enterprise version - this would be it.
I can appreciate that they need to keep some Enterprise only features to encourage people to move up to it, but we're currently a very a small company with no budget for monitoring software whuch is why we use open source. However, I'd like to think over time we'll grow and may look to purchase a more sophisticated monitoring platform and if at that stage we were running Hyperic HQ, the logical step would be the Enterprise version.
