RE: Disabling Metric Collections

Hi Charles.
Thanks for the email. This may be related. I deleted services from the
inventory of a platform. I restarted the server and it was fine. I
restarted the agent of the platform, and the services were added back
in. Is this a bug or normal behaviour? I had expected that the deleted
services would only show up again as an auto discovery option - not be
added in again on agent restart..

Hi Joan,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. This is indeed a bug
and has been logged (http://jira.hyperic.com/browse/HHQ-111). This
bug will be fixed in the next release of the software. Although a
bit tedious, you can go to each resource's Metric Data tab and
disable their metric collections from there.

Hi Joan,

This is not related. This is not a bug, the platform services are
considered to be part of the platform. Therefore, these services are
not optional for auto-discovery.
