Oracle Open Cursors Current

How is the calculation for Oracle Open Cursors Current calculated? I believe that the value is being retrieved from v$sysstat, but there is a bug in Oracle (bug #3926058). Is there any other way to override how this statistics is retrieved to produce a more accurate number?

The queries that are used to gather the Oracle statistics are currently embedded in the Oracle plugin's MeasurementPlugin. A list of queries we use can be found in our documentation:

http://support.hyperic.com/confluence/display/DOCSHQ27/Oracle+9i+Queries

This is the first I've heard of this issue with open cursors. Is there a known workaround?

Thanks for the list of queries.

For the Oracle bug, if there is a workaround, I am not sure of one and was hoping someone knew of a query that could retrieve a valid count. In our databases, the current "open cursors" count is listed at 3.1 million, so obviously the number is incorrect, so I have disable its collection.
