On A 3.0.3 HYPERIC SERVER trying to set up alert for hq agent and control-?

On A 3.0.3 HYPERIC SERVER Im trying to set up alert for hq agent and control action to restart if I get a alert-?
I open up the hyperic web page and select the hyperic client for the server. I then click alert
and create a alert if the availabilty of the hq agent changes. When I try and edit the CONTROL ACTION using edit . It doesnt list the agent in the resource type.
So I cant change the resource Name either , so I cant enter restart since I can get the hyperic
client as the reource. Is thi snot available. What am I doing wrong. I trying to test the control
action in EE and just creating a simple test to restart the clien..

Well, can you NAVIGATE to the AGENT in hq and ISSUE A Control
command ???

If you can't issue a regular command via the control tab, then you
aren't going to be able to execute a control action from an alert
definition.

In this case, the agent doesn't support control, so it's not
something you can do. As I said, you may want to try issuing control
commands to different resources (other than the agent)

If you are trying to restart the agent, who is going to restart it?
The agent is the guy who restarts things.. 😉

The agent isn't really controllable, so maybe you want to try a
different resource type.

I dont understand , Cant I issue a client stop or restart with the CONTROL for the alert.
The control has stop start restart but I cant get the hyperic client to be the resource . Im using EE version. I know I can maually stop and start a client . Isnt this control going to do the same thing ??? since it in the hyperic client alert? I have on ocassion fixed problems by restarting the hyperic client.

No If i navigate to the agent in hq there is NO control tab. This is strange though since
everything revolves around the agent . If the agent hangs or is unresponsive(which I have
a bug report in for ) then other alerts and functions wont beworking either . So I thought if I set up an alert for such a case I could restart the client . But I gues for the EE or Open Source version there is NO control for the agent .... I see for servers like Jboss there are control tabs in the quick control area . If I select stop or restart could I stop these servers on other agent sysytems?? This EE version is on a windows 2003 server installed . Will I have permission to restart the jboss server through EE hyperic.? Since I have a number of new users that have accounts on the server and dont have roles can any of them restart this on a remote agent ?? I have a windows and linux open source hyperic server also set up which does NOT have roles . Will any user that has a account on the hyperic server be able to execute remote starts and stops?

Can anyone tell me if the control tab which has stop and start will work for stopping or restart
servers or services that have a control tab by anyone with a hyperic account in the 3.0.3
Open source version. ??Or does restarting things like jboss, apache require root permissions
on the remote systems. If running a remote hyperic client as root ,will this allow the hyperic server accounts to resatrt servers or services on remote clients as root? Im re-issuing the question or replying to my own question to hopefully get someone to answer . Im trying to verfify that running remote agents as root could allow any account in the Open Soource to stop and start things on remote clients that they have No permissions on .
