New to hyperic hq

Hi

   I am new to Hyperic HQ open source. I have installed the serve and agent

when I try to start the agent using "hq-agent.bat start", I am getting

wrapper  | OpenSCManager failed - Access is denied. (0x5)
- No token file found, waiting for Agent to initialize
- No token file found, waiting for Agent to initialize

the agent is not starting

How to monitor a web app running in tomcat ?

Which OS are you using for your Hyperic agent?

The messages you see are valid. It appears few times until the agent is finally up and running. Is this the case? or didn't it eventually started?

As to your question regarding Tomcat monitoring, just install the agent on the Tomcat server and start the agent. That should discover the Tomcat services. If there is something specific you want to monitor please ask.

I am attaching an example of a Tomcat 6 monitoring.

Are you running it as administrator?

Hyperic is not supporting any desktop version. We support Win 2003/8/12 but not the desktops versions...

In order to install on Tomcat you just need to install the Hyperic agent on the Tomcat server machine.
