Monitoring URL

I am new to Hyperic. I was wondering is there any way we can monitor URLS through hyperic? All I need is to monitor a particular url ex;www.google.com.If we can, do we need to get an agent? I have installed the master. Can anyone tell me if this is possible and how can I do it?
thanks

you need an agent
after the agent's platform is discovered, you manualy add a platform service of type http.

With HQ, you must have at least one agent running to perform remote checks. This can be done with an agent running on the HQ Server itself, although, it is encouraged that you use one or more agents running on other boxes for larger scale environments.

The following URL may prove useful:

The HTTP check is part of the network services available for manual definition on a platform (host running an agent). The platform where the HTTP service is defined will be used to perform the check, and the results will be sent from this platform back up to the HQ Server. Any platform existing in inventory can perform this check, including the HQ Server itself if you have installed an HQ Agent on it.

Can this service handle a site the uses kerberos or LDAP for authentication? Also, what if access requires proxy authentication to access an external site?
