Hello,

Hi,
You have to install an agent somewhere. This can be done on the same platform as the server. Once you installed the agent it can be used as a hub for the communication with the networkdevices.
(as far as i have seen, you should use snmp v1 for the cisco instead of snmp v2c)

Hi,

The screenshots are based on Hyperic 3.x
Ping provides only very basic monitoring, why don't you go for SNMP ?
