I recently installed the agent onto one of my Exchange boxes. After waiting 10 minutes or so I was discouraged to see the message, "There Are no Indicator Metrics to Display" for each resource under the Exchange device.
So, I waited an hour...
I checked back and was presented with the same message. Naturally, I browsed the forums and found this link:
Silently cursing I checked the display range and found the problem. Before installing the agent on my Exchange box, I had adjusted the metric display range for another device (changed it to a 9pm - 11pm yesterday). Logically the metric data for Exchange could not be displayed because the display range was set for yesterday BEFORE the agent was installed.
Now, while I realize that Hyperic and the metric display are working as designed I think this could almost, almost be considered a bug. Shouldn't the metric display range be specific per device (or resource) rather than general for the whole Hyperic environment?
A noob mistake, I know, but this feature could probably be tweaked. No?
