Is there a way to move the hyperic server to another machine (linux machine

Im running s hyperic server on a Ubuntu linux system (3.1.0) ,but would like to rebuild this machine . I have another temporary server running (3.2.0) on another linux box. This box
has very little on it and if I lost it data alerts etc I would mind. I would like to move the 3.10
server to this 3.2.0 linux system with a different name and ip address. I have the 3.1.0
in its own directory(HQ) using the built in post gre db and same for the 3.2 0 system.

Is there a simple way I could move all the configs ,alerts and other stuff to the 3.2.0 system.
???

Hi Mike,

here is my recommendation (non tested):

- Upgrade your Version 3.1.0 to the level of the new box (3.2.0)
- Set up an alias ip address as service IP for Hyperic HQ on the new Box.
- Migrate the installation directory from the "old" machine to the new one and start HQ server
- Disable all alerts 😉
- Run Setup on all HQ agents and let them communicate with the new dedicated Service IP adress

Don't use machine IP adresses for services like Hyperic HQ. It makes you much trouble if you have to move your Hyperic HQ installation to another machine.
